High-capacity feederhouse, threshing, and cleaning systems

Feeding

Feed me more

When you have the capacity to consume like the S-Series, more is never enough. Exceptional feederhouse design makes the most of the combine’s time in the field, taking in all that the increased width and weight of our larger heads ingest. Larger areas of clearance in the feederhouse assure high volumes of crop flow through easily and uninterrupted. But, most importantly, it starts from the time the head meets the crop. That’s the benefit of the dynamic feederhouse chain, which makes transition of the crop level and steady.

Feeding

Harvest faster, no matter the terrain

Slopes in your field? Not a problem. The lateral tilt feederhouse is self-leveling, allowing both the feederhouse and the header to tilt four degrees left or right to harvest at an angle so you can gather crop at faster speeds on hills or inclines. Instantaneous tilt response allows you to react swiftly for quick contour changes. We’ve made it so the combine adjusts to your land, so you don’t have to spend time and money readjusting your land to fit the machine.

Feeding

State your position

And new on the S680 and S690 models, we’ve included a hydraulic platform tilt option to the feederhouse, enabling you to make in-cab adjustments to ensure proper cutterbar position for varying ground conditions. So when the terrain is challenging, you’re still able to raise your level of productivity.

Feeding

Handle heavy loads

Exclusive pivoting mid-frame design provides the strength to handle the intake of wider corn heads and platforms, as well as the capacity to handle immense levels of material in high-volume, tough-crop conditions.

Threshing & Separating

Tri-Stream Rotor covers just about all

If you want high-capacity harvesting and gentle threshing, then you want the Tri-Stream. Perfect for corn, soybean and certain small grains, the Tri-Stream is designed to guide material through the feeding and threshing areas without hesitation. And in damp crop, this is especially beneficial so you can harvest early or late when dew has settled, or at any time of the day when conditions aren’t optimal.

Threshing & Separating

Variable Stream Rotor covers the rest

For other small grains and rice, the Variable Stream is the option to go with. In rice that’s moist, wet, or fully green … or in small grains where straw is extremely tough, the Variable Stream delivers the high capacity and smooth performance you require. And the new 8-wing feed accelerator allows for an acre more harvest per hour because of improved material flow in these adverse conditions.

Threshing & Separating

Stay active in small grains

Ever heard of Active Concave Isolation? No? Well, now you have. Designed specifically for tough small grains – from wheat, to rice, to canola, and more – the new ACI adds productivity where you need it most. Let’s start with capacity. When tough harvest conditions arise, you can now harvest faster to cover more acres per hour. Impressive? Yes. But we didn’t think a 10% capacity increase, in tough conditions, was enough. So we bumped up throughput, as well, providing up to 20% increase so you can put more crop through your machine, saving even more time in your busy day.

Cleaning

Capacity at its highest

We designed the all-new Dyna-Flo™ Plus system to take your capacity to new heights. With 12% more surface area, the sieve is longer and – just as crucial – it’s lighter in weight. With this new cleaning shoe, capacity is raised 10% in corn and 13% in wheat and canola, giving you 1.5 acres of added time to your workday thanks to the additional capacity. The Dyna-Flo Plus reduces tailings volume by 28%, as well, to raise your overall speed and productivity.

Cleaning

It makes the right adjustment for you

That’s right. You don’t have to do anything. With this option, Active Terrain Adjustment™ adapts to the rolling terrain in your field by automatically adjusting your cleaning shoe settings to maximize efficiency. To put it simply, on inclines it opens the chaffer and sieve while reducing fan speed to keep grain from going out the rear. On declines it does the opposite, to keep grain from pushing towards the front of the machine. Add to that, Active Terrain Adjustment increases total combine capacity on uphill slopes to cut down on grain loss while decreasing your tailings.

Cleaning

Separate what matters

You want good material in, and material other than grain out. Active Tailing System on the S680 and S690 does just that. It handles returns that might normally go back to the separator and bog down performance, and instead distributes the grain and material back onto the return pan, not to the threshing area. Your capacity stays up, just as you like it.

Residue Management

Room for advancement

The Advanced PowerCast™ tailboard and straw chopper is an option of the premium residue system for greater flexibility. It contains two hydraulically driven enclosed discs and center divider that – along with the straw chopper, overshot beater, and straw chute – provide one-of-a-kind residue disposal.

Residue Management

Chop, drop, size, and spread.

Residue management is not an option. Fortunately, we have options to help you manage it. Like the fine-cut chopper that gives a precise cut while generating strong blasts of air for more even residue distribution. The manually adjusted tailboard spreads residue in widths to 30 feet. And the PowerCast™ tailboard offers the same spread with wider platforms, making even crop emergence a cinch in tilled or no-till fields.

Grain Handling

Better handling, better harvest

What separates a good harvest from a great one is grain handling. For S-Series Combines that starts with the 26-foot unloading auger, which we now offer as a folding unit for easier transport and storage of your combine. And it pairs perfectly with the 40-foot platforms and corn heads, making unloading on-the-go a stress-free operation so you can maximize your harvest, one season to the next. Plus, there’s the new 28.5-foot rigid unloading auger. The two-and-a-half foot extension allows you to better match performance with the all-new 645FD, as well as the 640FD.

Grain Handling

Unload in seconds

105 seconds to be exact. With the S680 and S690 you can unload the 400-bushel tank in 3.8 bushels-per-second. Yes, we did the math. Of greater importance to us is how many plus signs it adds to your profit margin.

Grain Handling

Grain Tank

The 400-bushel grain tank on the S680 and S690 is preferred by large-scale producers. 115 bushel-per-minute capacity on the S690 matches the high performance of our high-class front-end equipment to further your productivity.
