Professional Golf Maintenance I (CSPIL-GOLF-CUSTPROFMAINT )

This three day class teaches lead technicians and fleet managers from key golf courses how to better service and maintain their John Deere equipment for minimum cost and maximum productivity. This course covers theory of operation, key adjustments, and recommended diagnostic procedures for MY 13 and prior, fairway mowers, utility mowers, trim & surrounds mowers, and rotary rough mowers. Coverage will be provided on John Deere hybrid reel drive systems, aerators, and briefly on golf specific utility vehicles.

Who Should Attend?

This class is recommended for lead technicians or equipment fleet managers from Golf Courses that have been operating a fleet of John Deere golf course maintenance equipment MY13 and prior, and have not yet attended a factory training school, or who have substantial industry experience but not a great deal of experience with John Deere equipment.

Objectives:

  • Know and understand the electrical and hydraulic systems used on John Deere golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Follow technical manual schematics to quickly and successfully diagnose machine failures.
  • Know key set-up and operational checks to assure their golf maintenance equipment performs the best.
  • Adjust reel cutting units using John Deere Quick Adjust.
  • Minimize fleet down-time and maximize machine productivity by improving on-site maintenance and diagnostic procedures.
  • John Deere Turf Care Production Facility tour if available.

Required Materials:

Closed toe shoes and long pants are required. Students will be involved in lab exercises and around equipment. Safety glasses (available at class) will be required in lab areas.

This three day class teaches lead technicians and fleet managers how to better service and maintain their John Deere equipment for minimum cost and maximum productivity. This course will include new A-Model mowers with TechControl operating systems. This course covers theory of operation, key adjustments, and recommended diagnostic procedures for A-Model Fairway, Trim, and Rough Mowers. Both electric and hydraulic reel drive machines will be covered. Sections of the course focus on reel cutting unit set-up and adjustments, and analysis of after-cut appearance.
NOTE: Several new sections have been added to accommodate those customers who have attended previous training sessions.

Who Should Attend?

This class is recommended for lead technicians or equipment fleet managers from Golf Courses that have been recently taken delivery of A-Model mowers, or who have substantial industry experience but not a great deal of experience with John Deere equipment.

Objectives:

  • Understand the fundamentals of reel cutting unit operation, cutting unit option selection, and fine turf cut quality analysis.
  • Properly setup John Deere Quick Adjust reel cutting units.
  • Quickly diagnose machine malfunctions using onboard diagnostic systems for golf maintenance machines.
  • Use John Deere TechControl operating system to optimize machine performance.
  • Follow technical manual schematics to quickly & successfully diagnose machine failures.
  • Perform set-up and operational checks on key golf maintenance equipment.
  • Minimize fleet down-time and maximize machine productivity by improving on-site maintenance and diagnostic procedures.
  • John Deere Turf Care Production Facility tour if available.

HD200/300 Select Sprayer (CSPIL-GOLF-CUSTSELSPRAY)

This one-day class teaches proper set-up and adjustment for John Deere HD200 and HD300 SelectSpray Specialized Turf Sprayers. Students will learn how to properly check and calibrate these sprayers, as well as learn how to diagnose malfunctions. Sprayer settings and nozzle selection will be covered and demonstrated.

Who Should Attend?

This class is recommended for lead technicians or equipment fleet managers on courses that oversee or are directly responsible for golf course spray applications. It will be a very informative course for those technicians who are looking to broaden their skill and knowledge to better service their entire maintenance fleet.

Objectives:

  • Understand the operating systems for both centrifugal and diaphragm pump sprayer systems
  • Check the setup of their John Deere SelectSpray sprayers including booms, nozzles, and hoses Properly diagnose malfunctions in the base sprayer or sprayer controls
  • Properly set up both Manual and Automatic Rate Controllers for SelectSpray sprayer
  • Properly calibrate machine for basic applications
  • Properly perform routine service and winterizing of sprayer equipment
