Highlights of the Winter 2016 edition: Building Fields for our Future
Kids dream big, whether it's about becoming a football player, astronaut, nurse, or fireman. But not everyone has the same opportunity to pursue their dreams. That's the idea behind Fields & Futures, a program that encourages Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) students to join a team and gain valuable life skills, so they can succeed in the classroom – and in life.
The Yellow that Makes the Green
Gold courses. Picture the graceful rolling hills, lush foliage, and serene lakes and wooded areas. While seemingly peaceful, they often stand as a proving ground. Where deals are made. Politics are played. And respect is earned or lost. Requiring exceptional skill, focus, and self-discipline, golf courses are meticulously designed, built, and maintained to test players' balance of competitiveness and sportsmanship. They can bring great joy – or immense frustration. And you're about to meet one of the men responsible for it all.
