MulchControl puts the operator in control of the clippings. The operator can have all the benefits of mulching with the ability to easily change to side-discharge or bagging when needed.
While in the side-discharge mode, MulchControl will still mulch about one-third of the material. Therefore, the side-discharge mode is essentially a partial mulch mode. This can be an advantage when side discharging or bagging, as it helps reduce the amount of material being discharged. Other times this could work as a disadvantage:

Smart Connector
BUC10537 smart connector, wiring harness, and twist ties
A smart connector links the mower to the Equipment Mobile App and transmits vehicle information via Bluetooth® wireless technology to provide:
Optional BUC11960 smart connector is for use with:
Hours, fuel level, key switch status, and battery level are updated whenever the Equipment Mobile device is in range of a mower with a BUC11960 smart connector.
One end of the wiring harness plugs into the back of the fuel gauge. The other ends plug into the smart connector and the tractor's wiring harness. Z500 ZTrak Mowers come with a dedicated connectivity connector, so the new wire harness is not needed.
Optional BUC10537 smart connector is for use with:
Hours, fuel level, key switch status, and battery level are updated whenever the mower’s key is turned on and the Equipment Mobile device is in range of a mower with a BUC10537 smart connector. The X350R Tractor does not report exact fuel level, it only indicates if the mower is low on fuel.
One end of the wiring harness plugs into the back of a Select Series X300 or X500 Tractor instrument cluster. The other ends plug into the smart connector and the tractor's wiring harness.
The Z370R and Z380R Electric ZTrak Mowers include the smart connector in base equipment.
On Electric ZTrak Mowers the battery level, charging status, and hours are transmitted when the Equipment Mobile device is in range of the mower, and the mower is on or actively charging. Equipment Mobile can also update an Electric ZTrak Mower’s controller software.
A smart connector requires the Equipment Mobile App. The John Deere Equipment Mobile App can be found in the mobile device’s app store.

One chute works with several vehicle applications. Trim lines on the chute are referenced in the instructions so the chute can be cut to the proper length for the vehicle/mower application.

String trimmer mount on Z515E
Main and secondary brackets
The string trimmer mounting kit is designed to carry a string strimmer on the machine. It is designed to fit most string trimmers with straight shafts. The main bracket fits over the right-side fender, and the secondary bracket mounts to the caster arm on the discharge side of the machine. Rubber straps are provided to secure the trimmer in place. The mount is not compatible with a complete material collection system.

Sloped tailgate for easy emptying
A sloped tailgate design makes emptying the box easier; there is no tailgate to loosen or remove.
Spring-pin tractor hitch
A large-diameter hitch pin provides plenty of strength:
Tilt latch
An easy-to-use, spring-loaded dump latch allows tilting the box for easier unloading. A steep dump angle makes emptying the cart easier.

A convenient foot pedal dump release kit, LP48017, which now comes standard on all 10P and 17P carts is available to retrofit existing poly carts. This kit allows the operator to use both hands to lift the cart bed for more natural and efficient unloading.

Mower deck leveling gauge
Leveling gauge allows quick and accurate mower deck leveling and cutting height adjustment.
Can be used for:
48 HC mulching attachment
These mulching attachments are designed for the high-capacity mower decks. This design requires no drilling for initial mounting, less installation time, and reduced hardware count for easy removal of the mulching components.
Steel baffles control material and close off the discharge area. Special mulching blades are included to optimize mulching performance. These blades can also be used for side-discharging or material collection (if a material collection system is available), though performance may be reduced in some conditions.
