The frame design of the 913 V-Ripper positions the standards in a V pattern:
The 127-mm x 178-mm (5-in. x 7-in.) cross-section frame has 10-mm (3/8-in.) thick walls:
3-point hitch hookup is for Category 2 or 3N tractors.
The integral hitch can be set to two positions:
The soil probe helps operators to determine the proper operating depth of their ripper points,
38 mm (1.5 in.) below the bottom of the compaction layer.
The probe allows obtaining the maximum amount of soil fracturing from the entire family of John Deere ripper points. Marked in 51-mm (2-in.) increments from 254 mm to 559 mm (10 in. to 22 in.), the probe provides accurate feedback of compaction layer depth.
It is stored on the mainframe of the ripper for convenient access. The operator's manual explains the proper use of the soil probe.
The Category 4/4N Quik Coupler is designed for use with Category 4/4N implements only; however, if you desire to use Category 3N implements, these parts can be ordered. (Implement has to have wide lower hitch points to match 4N lower coupler arms.)
For steel Quik Coupler:
The lower coupler jaws will also require bushings to adapt a Category 3 implement to a Category 4 Quik Coupler.
Adapter bushings are available through implement factory service (Parts). Four lengths of adapters are available. Each implement will require two bushings.
A heavy-duty knife opens up subsoil and kills weeds by shearing off roots.
Each knife is 610 mm (24 in.) long and cuts 267 mm (10.5 in.) on each side of the standard.
The blade is 76 mm x 8 mm (3 in. x 5/16 in.) and is sharpened on leading edge.
NOTE: Not for use with spring-reset standards or straight shanks.
